Albert Haynesworth, one of the top three bad moves of the Dan Snyder ownership era of the Washington Redskins, finally got what he wanted – a ticket/trade out of town.

Mike Jones at WashingtonPost.com reports:

The Washington Redskins have traded disgruntled defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round pick in 2013, three league sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

Word of the trade came early Thursday morning as Redskins players began trickling into the team headquarters for training camp physicals. Haynesworth had been scheduled for an 8:30 a.m.physical, according to another person familiar with the situation.

In Jim Zorn’s first year and first game as Coach of the Redskins, after a few defensive plays, Haynesworth took himself out of the game and was gasping for breath. Haynesworth has also not participated in off season workouts with his Redskins teammates.

Good riddance.
