CNN Money released their 7th annual listing of “America’s Best Small Towns” and a handful of places in Northern Virginia made the cut.

Leesburg, VA came in at number 4 while Herndon. placed 34th, Montclair 35th, Oakton 36th, and Manassas Park 56th. The CNN Money folks ranked Leesburg high for its “proximity to plenty of good jobs not just in government but also in defense contracting, consulting, and technology” while also noting that those good jobs require a nightmarish commute from Leesburg but that the trade-offs like Leesburg’s “antebellum red-brick buildings filled with restaurants and galleries” more than make up the difference.

If you have never been to Leesburg (shame on you), the folks at VisitLoudon.org have a terrific video on just what the town is all about so you can see why CNN Money ranked them so high.
