68% of Americans do not make resolutions. You can find my 2014 New Year’s resolutions at this link. Hopefully this year I’ll keep a few.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Most Americans aren’t making New Year’s resolutions and don’t plan to leave their home to ring in 2014, a CBS News poll shows.

Sixty-eight percent of Americans surveyed said they don’t make New Year’s resolutions — up 10 percentage points from two years ago. Three in 10 Americans say they usually make New Year’s resolutions — but only about half keep them.

About 46 percent of Americans under age 30 make resolutions — the highest of any age group. People 65 and over are the least likely to do so.

While 73 percent of those surveyed say they plan to celebrate New Year’s Eve in some way, that number includes 52 percent who say they’ll celebrate at home. Younger people and those with higher household incomes were more likely to go out for the festivities
