I’m really into the new competition program Songland on NBC from Adam Levine. Each Tuesday night, four aspiring songwriters pitch a song to a rotating guest artist. In episode 1, that was Grammy winner John Legend.

The guest artist then picks the best song after the three producers – Ester Dean, Ryan Tedder, and Shane McAnally – work with the aspiring songwriters to polish their song in the finals.

John Legend ended up going with Tebby Burrows’s song “We Need Love.” John chose the song over Max Embers’s “Back Home” and Ollie Gabriel’s “Something New.”
